What is the Coral Stars blog about?

The idea behind the blog is to document my thoughts, observations, inspirations and other things of that ilk. Generally, this falls within the category of art, craft, fashion and style; however, I try not to limit it and other items pop up on occasion. Please read more about Coral Stars here!

What is the blog commenting policy?

I try to keep the blog positive, open and friendly, so I do welcome comments wholeheartedly. This is a space however, where manners and respect are expected. You are very welcome to express you’re opinion on whatever the matter may be (whether you agree or disagree with the post), but please do so in a polite and intelligent way. I do not tolerate any rudeness, personal attacks, discrimination and downright negativity toward myself and especially not toward any other readers of this blog. I believe that any such comments are a reflection of YOUR character, not of the person you may be insulting.

Your first comment will be moderated, but after that, it is your responsibility to remain within the guidelines stated above. All comments are read, so I reserve the right to delete any inappropriate comments at any time. If you are persistent, you will eventually be blocked without warning. Manners cost nothing, so please use them!

So far, we are lucky enough not to have had this problem and I hope with you’re help it can remain this way!

What do you run the blog on?

I am a big fan of wordpress and so that is my chosen blogging software. It’s probably a tad confusing for the average beginner, but it’s such a powerful tool and highly customisable!

Who designed your layout?

I created the layout mostly, but based it upon two other themes: Gridline Light by Graph Paper Press and In the Blue by Teresa Jones. The background pattern is from another of Teresa’s themes. For fonts, I used Da Font.com and for editing, I used PSP8 and PS Elements 6. The cute little graphics used in the header and for the favicon are from here, here and here. Other than that, all coding, graphics & redesign work was done by me.

What do you sell?

The Coral Stars shop stocks a mix of vintage, reconstructed and handmade items. Everything is either hand-sourced or hand-made by me. Mostly, I list clothes and accessories, but sometimes I’ll list other things too. One guarantee though - I only ever sell things I think are fabulous!

How do I order?

Ordering from Coral Stars is simple! See something you like? Just click ADD TO CART. You can update the contents at any time by visiting your cart. Once you’re ready to checkout, simply go to your cart and follow the steps through the checkout.

How do you set prices?

I try to keep prices reasonable, whilst also taking into account the cost of materials and time taken. Handmade items tend to be slightly more expensive because of all the time and effort put into making it unique! All prices are in British Pound Sterling.

What are the payment options?

At present, PayPal is the preferred method of payment because it is safer and more secure. Credit/debit card payments are all processed through PayPal. The good news is you don’t need a paypal account to use it! It’s completely private in that we have no access to your financial information.

If PayPal’s not your thing (and you live in the UK), you could always pay via postal order or personal cheque (allow 10 days for cheques to clear). Simply select this option and continue through the checkout. Please be sure to supply your correct email address so we can email you the address for postal orders/cheques.

Where do you post to?

Almost everywhere. This website is based in the UK, but we are more than happy to accept most international orders. Please contact me if you are unsure as to whether this includes you (usually it will).

How much is postage?

Currently, I am experimenting with the postage prices to ensure that the cost is fair and accurate. The current rates are as follows:

All orders are posted using Royal Mail 1st class Recorded Delivery or Royal Mail Airmail. Recorded delivery will require a signature on arrival. Please be sure to select the correct shipping rate for your location before you checkout. Orders are shipped once payment has been received.

What is the return policy?

We want you to love what you purchase so before you buy, please be absolutely certain that you want it. For every item, there are photographs and a written description including detail such as measurements, sizes and if there are any faults. Before placing an order, you are welcome to contact me for any further information you may need.

However, if you are completely unsatisfied with your purchase, please send me an email within 7 days of delivery, to see what can be done. Items will need to be returned in the same condition as they arrive.

Please note: Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on earrings and shipping costs cannot be refunded.

How do I care for an item?

I recommend hand washing and naturally drying all items. Handmade items especially. You may use a machine, but please treat with care because I take no responsibility for how the item reacts.
