Loono about Bruno
In this past season of being bombarded with black, it was a breath of fresh air stumbling upon Miss Bruno in the December issue of N.E.E.T. Don’t get me wrong, I do love black and lace and the assorted combinations of texture which occur with such a monotone colour palette. But, I love colour too! And over the past week or so, I’ve just been craving colour and prints and especially a mixture of the two.

Miss Bruno, a New York based brand, has managed to satisfy my need for both with their latest collection entitled “My So-Called Dress”. To quote N.E.E.T:
“Unashamedly bright and bold, Miss Bruno surprise by using graphic West African prints on cute playsuits and 50s-style dresses. – Kirsty Lee
How can I put this… I like stuff quirky and the clothes in the collection has a sufficient amount of natural quirk to it to make me a very happy bunny if I were to own a creation to wear. Prices are in fact reasonable when you consider that the duo behind the brand hand-make everything themselves (something I would squeal about of course) on a made-to-order basis. So in essence, you get something almost unique because, I assume, it’d fit you specifically AND you can pick the fabric to make it out of.

Even though we’re in the midst of the winter season; which, if I actually cared about trends enough to wear them exclusively (how dull would that be?!), means I should be adorning myself in black and lace and such; I find myself more and more attracted to these pieces. If only to brighten the dull grey days of winter.
Besides, a pair of thick tights and a scarf would still make them wearable in this chilly british weather and they’re of course wearable in the summer. I’m notoriously difficult when parting with cash (hence me trying to sell it to myself) but even I’m tempted to go for a small shop…

Leave a commentI love the prints. I have been trying to make my outfits a little less complicated color-wise, but these use color so perfectly.

where i love fashion and trends, i remind myself never to stick with them, not only because i would have to not be a student, but also i believe that i couldn’t be individual if i followed trends immaculatley. Instead its nice to be aware of them, but like you said lace is nice, black is nice, but if you fancy colour i dont think its fair to turn a nose up at it. specially when there are fantastic pieces like this. :)
