Remixd: That monday feeling

13.10.08

I think this is possibly the most high street outfit I’ve worn in a while. I spent the weekend pretty much in my pajamas, which I loathe because I feel unproductive and depressed. So, today I got almost all day off from school and decided I would actually dress up a bit. It makes me feel so much better! Does anyone else find this?

  • Black t-shirt: dorothy perkins
  • Black cardigan: asda
  • Patterned dress: laura for topshop (sale purchase ages ago)
  • Black ribbed tights: beatties
  • Black boots: vintage shop
  • Grey scarf: h&m
  • Bag: hand-me-down (usually used as my laptop bag)
  • Earrings (hidden): gift

I ventured to the library this afternoon to return some overdue books and get some new ones. There is nothing better than engrossing yourself in a good book! On my way back to my house, I stopped by a charity shop and spotted this faux fur coat. I was kind of torn between getting it because it’s not really my style. Then I remembered I was eyeing up a similar one in t.k.maxx the other day which was about £30 more expensive, so naturally this one won out.

I really like it, but I’m still a bit iffy about it on me. So, it may well appear in the shop when we finally open. Incidentally, following yesterdays post, I think I secured a possible photo-shoot location! I am going to check it out at the weekend though.

Anyway, I am orrf to have a cup of tea now. Hope you’re having a good monday!

P.S. A tip for thrifters out there - do not put your hands into the pocket of a garment! I almost got stabbed with a compass today and that would not have been fun.

That compass thing is crazy!

Great dress. I can’t wait to see what you will have in your shop.

Great blog! Thanks for requesting my flickr friendship - otherwise I may not have stumbled upon your site, which is now added to my favorites!

XO!

i was in the yellow vintage shop once looking at a bag and as the guy looked for the price tag, he emptied it and it was full of silver packets with pills in and old tissues and receipts, eek! i didn’t buy it in the end…

@WendyB - isn’t it just?! Once I found airmail stickers in a purse I got, that was a more pleasant surprise (because they come in handy sometimes!)

@Amelia - I can’t wait to open my shop and see what’s in it either :P

@Rachel - thankyou! loved your wardrobe remix post, so naturally, I friended you on flickr :D

@Selina - Oh dear me! Tissues always manage to creep me out because it reminds me that it was a living, breathing (and probably slighly stuffy nosed) person. I guess it’s the notion that a cold or flu virus is living on the tissue that does it.

I found $40 in a trench I bought for $3.
and some dirty socks, nasty,
but the other bit was a nice surprise.

with what you were saying about dressing up make you feel better, I do find the same thing, if I’m having a bad day I’ll come home and change into a dresser outfit, even if I’m going to sit around and do schoolwork it usually lifts my spirits.
