Inspiration File #1
Since I enjoyed posting last week’s sixties inspiration images, I have decided to make this a regular feature. So… I officially introduce a weekly “Inspiration File” which will be posted every Friday (hopefully). Within this, will be images, links etc. which have been inspiring me during the week, whether in a fashion/style context or a more arty/crafty context.

I adore this girl’s look! Plus, if you read the description, her skirt is a handmade reconstruction AND she says she like “old clothes with a story”. She sounds like someone who I could have a pleasant conversation with. Of the few street style sites I look at (must hunt out some more some time… any recommendations?) my favourite is probably Hel-looks. The combination of amazingly stylish people, varying ages, ideas behind the outfits and lovely images, just makes it fabulous for me - I never fail to see several outfits/details which catch my eye!
My other inspiration has come from ThreadBanger this week, as they are having a “back-to-school” themed week. Strictly speaking, I don’t go back until September, but the theme reminded me to make a pencil case and finish off a bag I started. I’ve almost completed both, except I am lacking a zip for the pencil case & suitable lining for my bag. Anyway, do check out the various videos they have on there…
- Back-to-school fashion trends - nice to know, I particularly like the victorian themed one!
- Decoration ideas - may be useful for those going to uni this year
- Eco school supplies - something which I’ve never thought to look for before
- How to make a backpack from a jacket - personally, I prefer my version, but mine involved destroying a vintage jacket… but it’s rather lovely if I do say so myself & means it’ll get more use out of what was really quite a vulgar jacket on
Now, your turn… what’s been inspiring you this week?
