Inspiration File #2
Without any further procrastination on my part, here are the things that have been inspiring me this week:
1) Autumn and winter! I am looking forward to it so much. Dressing in coats, scarves, boots, cardigans, jumpers etc is what is exciting me most. Maybe I’m suffering from SSM at the moment (likely, I’ve been living in my dad’s grey hoodie for the past few days), but I am excited about autumn nonetheless.

2) These images posted on Bygone Fashion this week follow a similar autumnal inspiration theme for me. I guess I’m just keeping my eyes peeled for some lovely autumn looks, but these photographs by John Rawlings are rather wonderful. And for folks who want a little more of the Rawlings action, there was a second post of photos on Bygone Fashion!
3) Steering off the fashion angle for just a second, toward the home decoration way. I love this post on Decor8 - I guess I am a sucker for beautiful photos and even more stunning interior design! It just makes me wish I owned my own house in order to diy to my heart’s content! BUT, I do believe my parents are thinking of sprucing up their office room soon, so I’ll retain these for inspiration!
4) And finally, this article on the Times got me thinking a little bit. I mean it puzzles me ever so slightly why they would make it out to be such a big deal, because having one season in fashion and buying classic, well made pieces is not a new concept. Women have been buying “staples” for years! And, if my memory serves me correctly from last summer (when I ended up obsessively reading a fashion history book instead of revising for GCSEs), two seasons in fashion was introduced by Christian Dior. Up until then, there was only one season, but of course, two seasons stuck and that is now the norm in fashion! So, whilst I am not adverse to the concept the article is describing, I fail to understand why it is such big news!

There is my list for this week, but what’s been inspiring you over this past week?

Leave a commenti’m feeling a bit static atm, not in a negative way, just like i’m about to dive in autumn but it’s not quite arrived yet! there’s a certain luella dress inspiring me, it’s been in loads of magazines, including the new lula, and it’s all poofy with long sheer sleeves, lush!

I am feeling very inspired by Autumn, which is a shame, seeing as today is the first day of Spring here! I love the old photos, that is something I’d love to wear.
