Tag, you’re it!

So it seems I’ve just been tagged by Selina of Flying Saucer. I honestly have no idea why because I don’t blog anything of use (yet…). In fact, I was just about to post why I think I have a tendency to ramble on without any real content or purpose (my young age - 17 in a few weeks, yes I am at the stage I can say that - means I’ve not yet made sense of my owns opinions/ideas/likes/dislikes etc which makes it difficult to blog with a purpose… good enough excuse?). Personally, I love Selina’s blog, not just because it’s interesting to read, but also because she is a survivor of my school (whose antics, you can read in one of my previous posts) proving that there are some nice people who are willing to expand their minds.

Anyway, onto what I’m meant to do with this tagging… I actually have no idea because I’ve never been tagged before (thankyou Selina)…

8 (random) things

8 things I’m passionate about…
  1. Crafting - I do love a bit of craft, I only wish I had more time in which to do it
  2. Fashion - to some degree. I’m not even going to bother pretending that I follow designers because honestly, save the odd glance, I don’t bother much anymore. I just love clothing and I find it fascinating how a particular outfit can say masses about a person
  3. Sleeping - I am exceedingly lazy, a habit I am trying to break!
  4. Ice cream - very yum!
  5. Web design - I like a bit of code on occasion (only on occasion)
  6. Drawing and such - need to practice A LOT though because I am awful at the moment
  7. Photography - I dunno if I have a strong passion, but I do enjoy taking photos on occasion. I don’t have a DSLR because I can’t afford it (and my bridge camera is sufficient for my current needs). Recently, I’ve been experimenting a little with our old film camera, because film has it’s perks too.
  8. I’d like to say something more interesting, but I really don’t do anything save trying to catch up with schoolwork, blogging, crafting and general (attempted) creativeness.
8 things I want to do before I die…
  1. Do what I love, whatever that may be - I don’t have big dreams
  2. Be happy - as in blissful/true happiness, even if that is only for one day
8 things I say often…
  1. Eeeeeeee! (funny scream type noise)
  2. Oh dear.
  3. [other words here] and such
  4. Helloo
  5. You’d have to ask the people who know me best to tell you this because I really don’t know what I say.
8 books I’ve read lately…
  1. Sherlock Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle - I have more than a mild obsession! I love the stories (have the complete collection so I’m working my way through) and indeed the TV series starring Jeremy Brett (tremendous actor)
  2. Various fashion design books - though I really need to try out what they say, because only through practice will I be able to draw!
  3. Digging to America, Anne Tyler - was on offer in Waterstone’s. It was okay, though I didn’t find the ending satisfying.
  4. Errm… I’ve not read much else lately. Other than the Business Studies case study - the only exam revision I’ve done!
8 songs I could listen to over and over…
  1. I’m not much of a music person to be honest. I like old stuff as well as new stuff. Occasionally I listen to Hype Radio or play iTunes on shuffle. Favourites include the Vines, Death Cab for Cutie, Pink Floyd and the Beatles, along with other stuff I’ll stumble upon on occasion.
8 things that attract me to my best friends…
  1. Witty/sense of humour - vital! I like to laugh, it cheers me greatly.
  2. Nice - I’ve been friends with bitchy people in the past, it’s really not fun
  3. Unafraid to be themselves
  4. Strong sense of style - even if not to my taste
  5. Errm… honestly can’t define it because all the people I know are different, but all lovely people in their own ways

I gather I am supposed to tag a few other people. I’ve no idea who else has been tagged, but I’ll tag a some blogs I read with a little explanation as to why I personally like them…
Elegant Musings: came across her blog through flickr/wardrobe remix and I love seeing her inspirations and reconstructed items
Bits and Bobbins: creator of the wardrobe remix and her blog is a wonderful read, she always posts such interesting links on her link posts - very thought provoking
So Fash’on: I first read her blog when we both used to be on wordpress.com and well, it’s been lovely seeing how far she’s come with her designing. I wish her every bit of success because she really deserves it
Lala: Love it! She never ceases to amuse me with her posts. Her blog brings a lightness to the world of fashion blogs and personal style.
Too Fat For Fashion: proving that the only thing that limits fashion experimentation, is a mindset

I would put some others, but I think that’s quite enough for the time being. Now, I’m off to try and sleep away this infernal headache that has come along this evening.

eight, what a strange number!
anyway, you’re one of the only people who’s caught my interest with survey responses! generally people’s answers are insufferably self-conscious…
