I’ll be half a dozen

With AS exams looming and all my not-yet-finished coursework needing to be handed in, you may be able to understand my blog quietness and general ARRGH feeling. I am in fact doing the avoidance tactic by blogging right now, but I shall go and do some work afterwards - I promise!

My walk home from school involves going past a primary school (children aged 4 - 11). As I walked, little children zoomed past me, coat hoods hanging off their heads and arms outstretched superman-style. With all the stresses of the day hanging over me like a black cloud, I couldn’t help thinking how great it would be to be a child again. Either that, or I would very much like to be retired and able to sip tea, sew and do some gardening (not that I ever go into my garden!)

I found this image a while back on Foto Decadent. I’ll be honest, I am not one of those girls who starts going ‘awww!’ when I see a baby. I find it a bit weird to save photos of children (unless they’re your own. Which, at my age, I am very glad I don’t have!) but the outfit here was so bright and cheering that I had to save it in my inspiration folder. There are very few times when I see a whole outfit which I really want to replicate, for the most part I just take strands of ideas and twist them into my own, but I want to wear this whole outfit. I want to be transported back to my childhood!

Yes, my current age is supposed to be ‘the best years of my life’ (you wouldn’t believe how many people have said that to me and then sighed) but who wouldn’t love to be 6 again for one day whilst wearing an outfit such as that? All your stresses disappearing and just being able to zoom around like superman or play stuck in the mud…

Just me? Well, I may not be a child any longer, but I make it my mission to find an outfit exactly like this and wear it with pride.
