Stitch n Bitch Birmingham

credit: google
For anyone who read my last wittering (post) and are interested in the Birmingham (England) Stitch n Bitch, I found the yahoo group (which I am currently attempting to join). The group has been going for approximately 3 years. Originally, they met at the library, but for some reason (of which I’m not sure) they now meet in the Edwardian tea rooms in the Birmingham museum and art gallery.
On the basis of what I was told (and did) last Saturday, I think it’s pretty much a drop in when you like thing. I don’t think you have to give them prior warning that you’re coming (I didn’t), just turn up with some knitting, find the knitters and ask to join in. Then, just sit back, buy some tea and knit to your heart’s content. Two hours will FLY by, trust me!
Oh and, if you’re not in the Birmingham area, don’t worry. I believe that stitchnbitch.co.uk will help you find one in your area. And if you can’t find one, you could always set one up yourself…
P.S. Hope no-one took huge offence to the word ‘bitch’. If you prefer, sometimes people call them “knit and natter” groups rather than “stitch n bitch”, personal choice of course.

Leave a commenthey girl, I’m a regular reader/lurker and this is my first comment. hi :]
I just wanted to say that I’m not from the UK and I’ve never heard the phrase “knit and natter”, but I find the name absolutely adorable!! I wonder if I can make it catch on here in Seattle =P

Helloo! Comments make me smile, so comment all you like!
I’ll be honest, I didn’t know the phrase until a week or two ago when I saw it in a knitting shop. But I agree, definitely a lovely phrase - and so much better when trying to explain the group to parents!
