Latest finds: Pumps & needlework
First off, my apologies for my last very rambling post. I guess I was going through the personal crisis in my head and needed to articulate it to make more sense to myself. You may ignore it and read some other more interesting posts.
I’ve not managed to do as much roaming in many charity shops as I would like lately, but I have been doing a spot of ‘thrifting’ when possible. I found an amazing (& very useful!) Reader’s Digest Complete guide to needlework a while ago for 70 pence! Bargain methinks. It’s one of the most helpful books I’ve read in a while and is pretty much a complete guide! I do love the charity shops.

Yesterday, I managed to go to Save the Children which is a 5 minute walk from school (which leaves me plenty of time to amble and get back in time for lessons again) and found these shiny silver pumps. They were a more expensive £4 and I probably shouldn’t have spent that much because they are actually dance shoes which render them unwearable unless the weather is good - which, considering I live in England, is unpredictable to say the least. Nonetheless, I did get them and I’m actually rather overjoyed by them and their shininess. I’m a magpie clearly!
I think that after a while of trawling the charity shops & other bargain type places, you learn which ones are really cheap, which are more expensive, which sells things you’ll like and which sells utter tat. I could do a post on the ones in my local area, but I’m sure it won’t apply to the large majority of you and really, what I like may be completely different to what you’ll like. I shall ponder it.

The settlement shop is wonderous! That’s where the book was from. I’ve not been to erdington in ages - I think these shops need to be checked out next time though.
I’m sure there’ll be one somewhere - manchester is a big place…
